L---+---1----+-T--2----T----3--T-+----4T---+---T5----+-T--6----T----T--T-+-YR| Portfolio Mini-Games Pack Released as Shareware - Jan 25, 1995 Author - Jay Vaughan jay@phxmedia.com This is a collection of programs that I wrote to test out a graphics library I wrote for the Portfolio, and which I am now making available for distribution along normal shareware channels. They are simple arcade-style games written specifically for the ATARI Portfolio system. I have also included a couple of other smaller interesting programs in this .ZIP file These programs are freeware. I'm releasing them to the 'net, so do whatever you want with them. I have the source code for these floating around somewhere, but unfortunately I don't know where just yet. It's been a while since I did anything on the Atari Portfolio, and due to the interest expressed by a few other Port users on the Internet I decided to crank out the archives and see what I could find. If I find source code, I'll put it in the same place as this .zip file: ftp://phxmedia.com/coolstuff/Portfolio The source code includes PORTGR.LIB, a Turbo C 2.0 library of graphics functions for use in developing ATARI Portfolio programs. The source code is fully documented, so if and when I find the .zip it may be of use to some of you old die-hards! HOW TO USE: These programs are intended for use on the ATARI Portfolio, and should be transferred either to a RAM card or the RAM drive before use. Now, on with the show ... The following is a list of files in this .ZIP Arcade games: CATCH COM 12736 11-04-91 11:44a The object of this game is to catch as many of the falling balls as possible. Use the two shift keys to move left and right to catch the balls as they fall. SWAR COM 15186 11-04-91 11:38a Fast paced action! Here's the scoop: It's the 21st Century and there is just way too much radioactive waste material going around. Nobody wants it! The object of this game is to push as many barrels of radioactive waste to your opponents side of the screen before it all blows up. Use the shift keys to move, and the ALT key to fire. The barrels move faster the more times you hit them, but slow down if you hit them too much. Watch out for your opponent - he's fast! Once a barrel reaches one of the sides, it stops, and there is only one way to send it back to the other side - arrows occasionally appear on the left or right sides of the playing field. If you shoot these, all of the barrels will be sent in your enemy's direction, but if he gets to it first, then they'll all come falling down to you. You can also shoot your enemy if you get frustrated, but he'll always be back until one of you is shot 3 times. I know this one's corny, but it was fun at the time... "Desk-toy" type programs: These programs remind me of executive desk toy's that often populate an average office worker's desktop. Not much use.
