World Clock copyright Atari Corporation, 1993 A freeware version for the Atari Portfolio Computer Released through the PALMTOP forum on Compuserve World Clock Documentation by BJ Gleason This program will turn your Atari Portfolio into a full featured World Clock. Imagine that you could find out the time in over a thousand different cities around the world. The world clock program will graphically display the time and the geographic location of the selected cities on a world map - or zoom in to the United States. It can be used to keep track of family, friends, or business contacts anywhere in the world. You can even personalize the display by adding in your own list of towns, cities, points of interest, even names! The fully map display allows you to display time zones, latitude and/or longitude lines, the equator, Greenwich Meridian Time, and a Midnight line so you can see where the day is just beginning. The dual clock display can be set up for 24 hour or 12 hour format. If you are a frequent traveller, the world clock can help you set your Portfolio to the local time, without having to use the DATE command of MS/DOS. The program can also compensate for Daylight Savings Time differences, since not all countries convert at the same time. STARTING THE WORLD CLOCK From the DOS prompt, enter the command WC and press return. The first time the program is executed, you will be at the main menu. If you make any changes, the current configuration can be automatically saved when you exit the program. The next time you start the program, the map will automatically be displayed. You can then press any key to return to the main menu. IF WORLD CLOCK WON'T RUN World Clock requires about 70k of free memory to run. Use CHKDSK to determine the amount of memory you have available. If less than 70k, you will have to adjust drive C: with the FDISK command to reduce the size of the internal RAMdisk. Use the command FDISK 8, to free up the maximum amount of memory. All the data on drive C: will be lost, so back up the information first! For more information, please check the Portfolio manual.
